GAVELIER OF THE DAY
Introduction
The term "GOD" stands for Gavelier of the Day. The Gavelier of the Day (GOD) is the person responsible for running the meeting, similar to the role of a Toastmaster of the Day in a Toastmasters meeting. The Gavelier of the Day is tasked with guiding the meeting, introducing the speakers, explaining the agenda, and ensuring the event runs smoothly. The GOD ensures that the meeting stays on track and that all participants know what to expect throughout the session.
Some of the specific duties of a Gavelier of the Day include:
- Welcoming and introducing attendees, including any guests.
- Introducing the theme of the meeting and explaining its relevance.
- Introducing the different segments of the meeting, such as prepared speeches, Table Topics, and evaluations.
- Managing transitions between speakers and segments.
- Keeping the meeting within the allotted time.
- Ensuring everyone follows the meeting agenda in an organized manner.
